The American brand Hart Schaffner Marx is known by some men because President Obama favored their suits when he was campaigning for office in 2008, even wearing one during his inauguration. Headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, right outside of Chicago, the company is turning 125 years old this year and they’re planning to release a capsule collection for Fall/Winter 2012 of seven pieces designed by Joseph Abboud, who’s currently the company’s chief creative officer. In the meantime, check out the video above created to celebrate their anniversary — it’s a testament to the company’s history of crafting American-made clothing in the same factory they’ve had for more than century, featuring plenty of archive advertisements, cool sketches, and heritage tailored clothing worthy of a second (or third) glance. It makes sense that our president approves, especially when Abboud puts it like this: “We’re bringing the past to [men] — not as a museum, or an archive, but as a living brand that’s moving forward into the future.”
